🧥 Cropped Double-Breasted Jacket — PDF Sewing Pattern
12 sizes, US 0–22 (XS–XXL) · Fully lined · Welt pockets · Notched lapel · Knit hem band · Intermediate · A0, A4 and US Letter
A tailored jacket usually ends the way a tailored jacket ends: a straight hem that hangs. This one ends in a ribbed knit band, the way a bomber does. That single detail is why the cropped shape actually works — the band pulls the hem in and holds it at the waist instead of letting it flare, so the jacket sits where you want it whether it is open or buttoned.
Everything above the band is proper tailoring: a notched lapel that rolls, a double-breasted front, two welt pockets, two-piece sleeves and a full lining that finishes the inside as cleanly as the outside. It is an intermediate make and it is honest about that — but it is the kind of project that changes what you think you can sew. ✨
