Quilting cotton throughout. You'll need a solid or near-solid for the background, a set of coordinating prints for the strips, one solid for the narrow bands that frame each diagonal, plus backing, batting and binding.

Yardage is calculated for fabric 42" (107 cm) wide.

This pattern is happy with precut strips, and just as happy with the fabric you already have — every strip is narrow, so leftovers from other projects work perfectly. Pick a background that contrasts strongly with your strips: the whole design depends on that contrast.
