The face is a proper carved jack-o'-lantern — two hard triangular eyes, a separate triangular nose, a wide jagged grin, all cut from black cloth and stitched onto the head. No rosy cheeks, no smile, nothing softened. And it sits on a long-limbed rag body that flops the way a rag doll should. This is not boilerplate. The head is six curved panels that all have to meet at a single point at the top — it is the least forgiving shape there is. Print at 97% and the last panel will not close, and you will not find out until the head is nearly finished. The square takes ten seconds and it saves the whole project.

📊 Skill Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate

The body is straightforward: simple shapes, stuffed and sewn. The two parts that ask for care are the six curved head panels, which need an accurate seam allowance to meet cleanly, and the dress — which is a miniature garment with set-in sleeves, a gathered skirt and a back opening, and is genuinely the harder half of this project.

If you have made a soft toy before and sewn a small garment before, you have what you need.
