🛍️ Fabric & Materials

Main fabric — a medium-weight woven that holds its shape: cotton canvas, duck canvas, denim or linen. Lining fabric — something lighter: cotton poplin, quilting cotton or a thin lining fabric. Optional — interfacing on the main fabric if you want a firmer, more structured bag. Not required.

You will also need: a sewing machine, an iron, thread, pins, scissors, and a printer or a copy shop for the pattern.

💡 Choosing Your Fabric

This bag is mostly two large pieces, which makes it a good home for a fabric you have been saving. A bold print works beautifully here because there are no seams cutting across the front to interrupt it.

If you are sewing this as your first bag, stay with cotton canvas, quilting cotton or linen. They press well, they hold a pin, and they forgive an unpicked seam.
