🧄 Kids Hooded Jacket — PDF Sewing Pattern

Two lengths Ā· Raglan sleeves Ā· Unlined Ā· 8 sizes, 80–150 cm Ā· Seam allowance included Ā· A4, US Letter, A0 and projector files

One pattern, two jackets — and they are not the same garment.

The long version is a relaxed coat: thigh length, plain hem, open sleeves. It falls loose and it goes over everything.

The short one is something else entirely. Hip length, with a drawstring at the hem and elastic at the cuffs — pull the cord and it closes around the body, wind stays out, and it becomes a windbreaker rather than a coat. Same pieces, same afternoon, a different thing at the end. 🧄

And the fabric changes it again. Linen for summer. Corduroy for autumn. Nylon for a lightweight rain jacket — which is unusual on a children's pattern, and which turns the short version into exactly the packable shell that gets stuffed in a bag for a whole season.

🧵 Recommended Fabrics

Woven fabrics: linen, cotton, nylon, twill and corduroy.

Choose a mid-tone if you can. This jacket is made of details — the raglan seams, the topstitched pockets, the gathered hem — and a very dark or very pale fabric swallows all of them. In a mid clay corduroy or a mid sage linen, every line of the construction reads.

Questions makers ask

Do I need a special printer?
Nope! Every pattern is tiled to print on a regular home printer using standard A4 or US Letter paper — just tape the pages together and you're ready to cut. Prefer no taping? Each pattern also includes a large-format A0 file you can send to a copy shop, plus a projector file if you sew with one.
I'm a complete beginner — can I do this?
Absolutely. Our patterns are designed to be beginner-friendly, with clear, illustrated step-by-step instructions that guide you through the whole process. Thousands of first-time makers have sewn our patterns with no prior experience.
How do I get my pattern after I buy?
Instantly. The moment your payment is confirmed, your files are ready to download — and we'll also email you a download link so you always have access. No waiting, no shipping.
Can I sell what I make?
Yes! You're welcome to sell finished items you make from our patterns. We just ask that you don't share, resell, or redistribute the pattern files themselves.
What sizes are included?
Each pattern comes with a full size range and a detailed size chart so you can pick your perfect fit before you start. All sizes are layered in the file, so you only print the size you need.
What if I get stuck?
We're here to help. If anything's unclear or you run into trouble, just reach out by email and we'll get you back on track — usually within 24 hours.
