Zip Makeup Pouch — PDF Sewing Pattern
A lined zip pouch with a flat base and gently sloping ends, sized for makeup, cosmetics or small everyday essentials. Two PDF files: instructions with step-by-step photos and a video link, plus the ready-to-print pattern.
Why it looks harder than it is
Straight stitching only. There is not one curve in this project. The zip is set into a straight seam, flat, before the pouch is assembled — so you are sewing a straight line on a flat piece of fabric, not fighting a zip inside a finished bag. The flat base comes from cutting a small square out of each bottom corner and stitching that notch closed, and the notches are already drawn on the pattern pieces.

Materials you will need
- Outer fabric, quilting cotton: 2 pieces, 10¾" × 7⅛" (27 cm × 18 cm)
- Lining fabric, quilting cotton: 2 pieces, 10¾" × 7⅛" (27 cm × 18 cm)
- Fusible fleece: 2 pieces, 10" × 6⅜" (25 cm × 16 cm) — a medium fusible fleece, or an equivalent
- One 6" (15 cm) zip
- Matching thread, a zipper foot, pins or clips, scissors and an iron
