🎃 Fall Harvest Patchwork Pumpkin — Two Projects, One PDF
35-page pattern · Dimensional stuffed pumpkin + flat quilted mat · ¼″ / 6 mm seam allowance included · Full-size templates in US Letter and A4 · Confident beginner
Two pieces from one fabric pull: a plump ribbed pumpkin that stands up on a mantel, and a flat quilted pumpkin mat that sits beside it.
Make the mat first. That is not an afterthought, it is the sensible order. The mat is five straight pieced strips in the same four fabrics — so it is where you find out whether your ¼″ seam is accurate and, just as importantly, whether your four fabrics actually read as four distinct panels once they are side by side. If two of them turn out to be too close in tone, you find that out on a flat mat that took an evening, not after you have cut and stuffed eight curved panels.
Then the pumpkin. Eight lens-shaped panels, firmly stuffed, pinched in at each seam so the body reads as eight real ribs rather than a printed ball, finished with a sewn stem and a leaf.
The templates are drafted geometrically rather than eyeballed, and the ¼″ seam allowance is already included in every template and every stated measurement — there is nothing for you to add or subtract.

🎨 Choosing Your Fabrics
The pumpkin only reads as ribbed if the panels alternate in value, not just in pattern. Put a pale fabric between two mid-tone ones all the way round and the eight ribs separate; use four mid-tone fabrics and they merge into one orange mass, however pretty each one is on its own.
Keep the print scale small, too. A finished panel is about 3½″ at its widest and tapers to a point, so anything larger than a coin gets cut into fragments that no longer read as a motif. Small florals, fine checks and solids do the work here.
🪡 Who It's For
Anyone who can sew a straight ¼″ seam and a gentle curve. If you have made a cushion cover, you can make both of these. It is a good use for a fat quarter pile, and the finished pieces work as a table centrepiece, mantel styling, Thanksgiving decor or a hostess gift.

About the images and the pattern's status. The finished-project visuals in this listing are digitally generated presentation images, not photographs of a sewn sample. The geometry, cutting quantities and seam allowances have all been drafted and checked for consistency, but a physical prototype has not yet been sewn. Where a visual and the written text differ, the written pattern is the authority, and this is stated inside the PDF as well.
And here is my commitment on that. If anything is unclear or looks like an error, message me — questions get answered, and any genuine correction goes out as a free updated file to everyone who has already bought the pattern. You are not buying a file I walk away from.
